The University of California, Berkeley, lifted a shelter-in-place order following a threat that led to canceled classes and a lockdown of buildings Thursday.
The university police department tweeted at 2 p.m. local time that the situation had been resolved, ending a roughly four-and-a-half-hour shutdown of the campus. Police had earlier said they were searching for a person who may be looking to harm specific individuals.
