Heathrow to Resume Some Flights After Blackout Closes Airport
London’s Heathrow airport said it’s slowly coming back from an unprecedented daylong blackout that brought travel to a standstill for hundreds of thousands of passengers at Europe’s busiest airport.
The airport said some flights would resume later on Friday, focused on repatriating displaced passengers and relocating aircraft, and it hoped to run a full operation on Saturday. British Airways, the biggest single operator at the airport, said it expects to run about 85% of its schedule on Saturday. Still, Heathrow advised passengers not to show up unless they’d been told to do so by their airlines.
