Poland Sends More Troops to Latvia to Beef Up NATO’s East Flank
Poland will soon bolster its military deployment to Latvia to beef up the defense of frontline states in NATO’s east, said the country’s defense chief.
In June Warsaw will boost the number of its personnel stationed in the Latvia from 190 to 300 soldiers, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said during a televised speech from the Baltic state on Thursday. Poland will send a “specialized unit” to protect against chemical warfare, the minister said.
