Miami’s city commission voted to postpone municipal elections set for November, giving the mayor and two commissioners another year in office in defiance of Governor Ron DeSantis.

Proponents of the change, which passed 3-2, argue that changing election years to coincide with general elections, will boost voter turnout and save the city money.
