Newest US Navy Aircraft Carrier Faces 20-Month Delivery Delay

Delivery of the Navy’s newest aircraft carrier, the USS John F. Kennedy, is likely to be pushed to March 2027 from this month because of production challenges, according to a newly disclosed budget document.

The carrier’s builder, HII, is facing issues constructing and installing elevators designed to move munitions to the deck.
