Workers on London’s Underground train network are planning a seven-day strike next month, a blow to commuters as the UK’s capital gets back up to full speed after the summer.

The action is scheduled to begin on Sept. 5, and comes after management “refused to engage seriously with union demands” on pay and other conditions, as well as failing to honor past agreements, the RMT union said in a statement Thursday. Different grades will take industrial action at differing times during the walkout period, the union said.
