Unlike the first quarter, the second was characterized by a weakened US macro. As earnings season gets underway, investors will look for clues as to how these corporates are coping. As the economy decelerates, evidence from companies should help determine whether the bull market runs out of steam. None can run in perpetuity, so it’s almost a given that investors will parse earnings tightly.
